When she was called down she went to parade rest and looked at the Commander as he explained the current status of the ship. She nodded when appropriate and thought a little while before answering the rather quickly asked questions.
I will take your suggestion into account Captain. With your permission however I would like to remain on the bridge and help you out sir. This war has taken great ships and crews and reduced them to ruble. I don't want another officer to feel they must bear the burden alone. That is why I didn't wait for the Optimums to put in to come and offer assistance, sir.
She then looked around the bridge.
And with all the respect in the world sir it appears you might need another pair of hands up here.

Alex wakes up sometime later in his quarters with the lights down low. He rolls around on the bed for a while before reaching over to his night stand by his bed to pick up the PADD that was there. He read the orders by the chief medial doctor and just groaned. He was feeling every one of the forty some odd years he was right now, and that PADD just reminded him why.
He dropped the PADD back down on the night stand and just layed there for a while. He had to think of a way to get himself to eat something. He was exhausted in more then one way. That is when he turned his head to see a young officer sitting at the table an apple in one hand and PADD he was reading in the other. He had the marine insignia on his one side and the green color to his uniform. He was Trill or something because of the spots that ran down the side of his neck. Alex had to blink a few times to figure out who the man was.
Sure enough when the young man saw the older one look at him. He just smiled and went to the replicator. Bringing the old fossil of a Bolian a liquid of some sort that Alex could only guess would reacquaint his body with food. With the help of the younger man he sat up and drank the liquid then layed back down. The young man disappeared for a while out of Alex's sight and Alex could only thing he was hallucinating the man for everyone was out of his quarters he was sure of it.
The young man came back after a few minutes and started moving Alex around. Alex wasn't sure what was going on he was so tired at the time. But the young man did. He helped him get into his night cloths and then helped the Bolian get under the covers. All Alex felt was the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders and warmth, like that of his wife's arms, surround him. Before he could even say a word the whole room went dark and Alex was peacefully resting.
Meanwhile back in the bricks the marines were bunking down for the night, those that were off duty. Those that were on duty were taking their posts up and the medical unit was assisting with cases as they could. Actually forcing some of the marines to rest in bricks and take in food. The unit as a whole weathered the storm now it was time to make sure that they were ready for another one. That means getting everyone back in their game by any means necessary. Talk just watched from the office and said a silent prayer for his fellow marines that were being asked to rest. His prayer was for them to take the advice and follow it, so not to be buried before their fight was over.

He could not help but admire her work ethic and the fact that she was pro-active in coming out to the ship to help rather than simply wait at the Starbase. He realized that had their roles been reversed, he would have done much the same thing.::
::He also realized that this was a good opportunity to see what Commander Rivers could do. He turned his head, seeing a Helmsman that was yawning and Brock knew he had been at his post for some time.::CO>HELM: Lt Matthews, You are relieved, Go get yourself some rest and some food. ::He turned back to Cmdr Rivers.:: Take the helm, Commander. Prepare for final approach to 141 and begin docking procedures at the appropriate time. ::Lt Matthews Nodded in appreciation to Brock as he relinquished the helm to Commander Rivers. He watched her take the helm ago over the control panels, checking for position and ETA to the base. Brock felt confident in his new officer and was happy to have her in his crew.::

Admiral Malc turned over on his bed, and his eyes slowly opened.
It took a moment for the cob-webs to clear, but he finally realized that he was in his quarters. How he'd got there he couldn't recall, but the fact that he was there must mean that something had happened to him.
He searched his memory, trying to remember the last thing he was doing. After a few moments, he remembered that he had been in the ready-room, and had just completed the officer reports for Commander Dantara and Captain Kaz. He had been planning to promote Lt. Commander Dantara to full Commander, and to let him know that he'd be the XO of the Optimus. He'd also sent transfer orders for Captain Kaz to be re-assigned to the Theomeny.
Apparently, he never got the chance to let Commander Dantara and Captain Kaz know of these new updates.
Thats when he saw the note on the table next to his bed. It was from Dr.Jackson, informing him that he'd been relieved of command due to exhaustion, and that he was to contact her as soon as he was able, and that he would need a full clearance to return to active duty.
He rolled over, onto his back, stretching. Apparently he had passed out from exhaustion. He grabbed a PADD that was on the table next to his bed, and checked the Optimus' current status.
He read over the information that had been entered into the data-bank by Dr,Jackson and Commander Dantara. Apparently The Doctor had seen the PADDs on his desk, and had forwarded them to Captain Kaz and Commander Dantara.
Admiral Malc sighed. He had wanted to personally promote Commander Dantara, and see the Captain off, on her new assignment. But things have a way of working themselves out, and Commander Dantara had taken command of the Optimus, and they were currently headed for SB-141, where the ship would receive some much needed repairs, and the crew would receive a well-earned shore-leave.
Admiral Malc put the PADD back on the table, feeling better about the ship, and the situation, now that he knew that things were running smoothly.
He'd rest for a few more days then contact the Doctor and get her opinion on when he should/could return to active duty.
For the mean-time, he would enjoy this respite.
He rolled over, and closed his eyes, and fell-off to sleep.

::Torianna yawned as she made her way slowly to her quarters, pausing for a brief moment to lean against the bulkhead. Exhaustion was finally taking it's toll on her and she knew that she had to follow the orders for her to sleep from both Brock and Dr. Jackson or she would soon collapse. Pushing off the bulkhead, she once again headed to her quarters with a brief stop at her office to see if there were any messages for her. Satisfied that no one was in dire need of her services, she made her way to her quarters.
Upon entering the security code, she watched as the door slid open and she stepped inside, her personal belongings still not completely unpacked but that would wait until she got some rest. She quickly undressed and stepped into the shower, allowing the hot water to soothe her tired muscles. Following the shower, she slipped quickly into the bed and laid there thinking that upon waking she would check on the Admiral, as well as several others.
It was not long before she drifted off into a deep sleep, a soft smile upon her lips as her last conscious thoughts were of Brock and the time they had spent together, the melody of the song he had sang, filling her mind.

"Doctors never get to rest." She mutters to herself as she returns to sickbay to fill out paperwork for the several people whom she had relieved of duty and sent to quarters. Good thing they were heading for shore leave... She needs a break. She was very glad that marathon study sessions and classes during medical school had prepared her for a life of all work and little sleep, for now the ability was the only thing keeping her from being her own patient. However, she had chosen this path, and was honored to follow in her adoptive parents' footsteps.
She hums a Bajoran melody in the now empty sickbay. She had sent all but one nurse off for sleep and had shortened the duty rotations so that no one would have to work for very long at any given time.
Her reports showed that the Admiral had recovered from his little bug, thanks to rest and a few immune boosting medications, but she still wanted him off duty for awhile to recover from the stresses of the war.

::Brock hits the Comm panel on his command chair.::
CO*T*CMO> Bridge to Dr Jackson. We will be arriving at Starbase 141 shortly. What is the Admiral's condition?
:: As he waits for her reply he turns to Lt. Commander Rivers.::
CO>HELM> What is our exact ETA, Commander?

CMO> +T+ ACO> "Sir, the Admiral is still resting. He is improving, but in cases like these, someone must recover completely before returning to activity, or suffer a relapse of exhaustion or sickness. If he is more comfortable in his quarters on the starbase, I will allow him to transfer there, provided he continues to relax."
She waits for a response as she sorts through a few more files and closes her desk drawer. She may get to relax a little herself now.

ACO*T*CMO> Understood, Dr. I've deliberately avoided contact with him in order to let him rest. I think that transferring him to his apartment on 141 would be wise. If there is anything I can do, please notify me. A new bridge officer has arrived as Capt. Kaz left the ship and I can step away If need be. Dantara out.
::He sat back in his chair waiting for Lt.Cmdr. Rivers to respond.::

Take us in on Impulse, then bring us around to bay seven, thrusters only. Once they bring us in, we'll begin engine shutdown procedures.

Aye sir Was all she said to his orders. She first took the ship to 1/4 impuls power until hearing the chatter from 141 then she manuvered the ship around the station. Like an old pro she found the correct docking bay and kept up with 141's orders for speeds and thruster power up until the very last miute. Then they took over completely. Once she was feeling safe that the ship was under 141's power she spoke turnig in her chair to face him at OPS. The station has us now sir and we should be dockted momentarly...The crew can then disembark if they wish to be assigned temperary quaters on the station. I was meaning to give you that message when I borded from the quater master himself. He also said that the station was open for leave as well should the crew feel the need to do that. She then turned back to the consul in front of her and tapted away on it after she got done delivering the message.

::Brock felt the docking clamps grab onto the ship. His indicators showed the base umbilical being attatched to main hatch. He recieved a signal over his command panel that the leock was sealed and that it was now safe to disembark form the Optimus.::
CO>ship-to-ship> All hands, this is Commander Dantara. we are now docked. Please allow Dr Jackson to supervise bringing the wounded onto the base first. We are now offially on shore leave. Optimus will soon be undergoing repairs. Please enjoy your leave and get some rest and relaxation, all of you.
You have all been a fine crew and have done Starfleet proud. All of you deserve to be, and will be commended for your efforts and your sacrifice.
Dantara out.
