Fritz remained at attention as the Admiral gave him his instructions. The Admiral was obviously busy, as he didn't waste any time with pleasantries.
When the Admiral finished, Fritz Saluted him and said:
"Yes, Sir. On my way now Admiral."
With that, he turned on his heel, and left the ready-room.
When he came to his quarters, the first thing he noticed was that his room was about 60% of the size of a comparable room on another starship.
He didn't waste anytime, as he tossed his duffel on a chair, and went to the console on the desk in the corner of the room.
He brought-up the ship-schematics, then once memorized, he quickly turned off the computer, and headed for the Intel Department.

:::Admiral Malc closed the channel::::
He returned to what he had been doing before his talk with the Lieutenant, and before the sub-space communication from President Pelleaon.
He tapped the console, and brought it to life. He began looking over the sectors that the Federation controlled, and called their own. As he was looking over the sol-sector area he noticed an ambient "blinker",in the sol-sector, which usually signalled some sort of SOS. He was certain that there were other personnel that would be handling this, as it wasn't an uncommon occurance...an SOS; but for some reason he decided to home-in on this particular distress signal:
"Computer, Identify distressed ship, and put SOS on-screen."
Admiral Malc said casually.
[glow=red,2,300]"Ship identified as PRV-110377. SS Wind Whisper."[/glow] The computer replied in an unemotional, female tone.
Admiral Malc froze for a moment....knowing who the ship belonged to, and who was on it....but his mind was refusing to cooperate..he sat, unable to move as the SOS came on the view-screen:
“This is President Gilad Pelleaon to any and all allied forces in Sector 001! The Wind Whisper has fallen under attack and we have sustained heavy losses! We require immediate assistance. Our coordinates are-“
The President said..as the signal fought to stay clear.
“We are at Sector 001, section 15, course 012! Send aid immedia-“
[glow=red,2,300]"End of SOS."[/glow] The female-voice of the computer informed the Admiral.
Admiral Malc sat a moment longer, before re-acting; He tapped his comm-badge:
"Colonel Barada to the ready-room immediately." Malc said into the comm, before cutting the transmission.
After letting the Colonel know he was needed, he went to his command console, this time he entered a clearance requirement, in the message he was about to send. It was to the Division Commander, in-charge of the Sol-Sector...if they couldn't get to the President...nobody could.

::Colonel Barada exploded in the ready room. His expression was unreadable save for the fire that was burning in his eyes.::
"I just saw the Intel report come across the Big Screen, Admiral. I understand that the President and Presidential Ambassador Pelleaon were both aboard the Wind Whisper. Preliminary reports from Fleet Commander Washington is that there are no traces of the Wind Whisper in the immediate area."
"They have a search and rescue operation going on. There are more than a few inquiries from the Federation Council. Public relations is----'handling' them as we speak."

"They have a search and rescue operation going on. There are more than a few inquiries from the Federation Council. Public relations is----'handling' them as we speak." Admiral Malc nodded to the Colonel as his rapid-fire report concluded.
"Very Good, Colonel. The Admiral said, then paused a moment before continuing.
"I had a conversation with the President, not a half an hour ago...he re-iterated that the ROE would be passive/aggresive...... Again, the Admiral paused.
"However, it is my belief that the President wanted to maintain a 'stand-and-see' way of handling this threat.....that has changed. I have sent orders to all division commanders that the rules of engagement have now changed, as the invaders have clearly demonstrated their intentions.
Admiral Malc's hands flew across his command console as he entered the needed authorization for what he was now planning.
"Colonel...you'll need to go activate your new access. I want there to be a redundancy factor here.... The admiral trailed-off:
...In case anything should happen to me. In addition..send 200 more ships to the Guardian, and have them deploy type-8 and type 9 probes around the entire sector, and have them set-up a watch-dog patrolling shift for earth specifically. And if the Captain thinks it can be done...I want everyone locked out of that sector unless they have my direct permission, or the permission of the Council....and if you can think of anything else we can do, add that in as well."

::Colonel Barada met the Fleet Admiral's gaze and walked over to the desk with his nameplate on it. He placed his palm on the screen there and typed in a sequence. His command codes were accepted. The only expression he gave was a blink, as he was not even aware that Starfleet Security levels went that high, and he had a full Top Secret clearance.::
"Activated, Admiral. I will take care of the deployment to Sol Sector fleet and the other orders immediately. I will think of a few things to bolster our defensive----and our offensive. Let me brainstorm with my advisors. In the meantime, I would strongly recommend assigning two Space Marines to you at all times. This is just a precaution."

Have them placed outside the ready-room; standard detail should be fine."

::He finished the salute and turned on his heel to depart.:: The Admiral Nodded as the Colonel left the ready room. He then turned to his command-console, and sent a message to the Director of section-31 that he was in need of all intel he could come across.
When he was finished, he sent the letter in the usual priority format, so as not to draw attention to it.
He then got up and Headed for the bridge.

Admiral Malc entered the large ready-room, and went to his chair, sitting-down in it's soft embrace, and pulling himself forward.
He tapped a few keys on the command-console in-front of him and brought-up the newest member of his crew, the Romulan Sub-Commander.
The Tal'Shair had sent her profile and service record two days earlier, and had sent the admiral a special encrytion key, that was to be used with all forth-coming communications from them.
He noted the Sub-Commanders experience in the area of Intelligence, and nodded approvingly.

She reached the ready room after a few false starts. Smiling at herself with the few mistakes she made mental notes of what they were so as not to repeat them.
She rang the chimes and waited to summoned. This was proper Rihannsu protocol but she unsure it was so here.

::It was a good thing he had been called to the Ready Room. Barada had quite a few things to report to the Admiral, not that he felt the Admiral would necessarily like what he had to say. He tried to stick to the facts, but a threat had to be identified. It was, after all, what his primary job was.::
::He had taken out his spycorder and was beginning to call up the information when he heard the chime ring. As was protocol the individuals on the other side of that door were scanned at the subatomic level to verify their identities before being allowed in. He quickly checked and saw the Sub-Commander was ready to be piped aboard.::
"Come." ::He replied.::

Admiral Malc nodded as the Colonel entered the ready-room, and took a seat behind his desk, while acknowledging he was aware of the new crewman.
The Chime rang, and as Colonel Barada said "come."
Admiral malc checked his console, verifying that it was Sub Commander Reha Khev.
Admiral Malc leaned back and watched as the lithe Romulan Sub-Commander Entered the ready-room.
He waved to a chair, indicating that she should take a seat.
"Welcome to the USS Optimus Sub-Commander." Admiral Malc said, while one hand made a gesture toward the ship.
"You were recommended to us by your superiors due to your vast experience in intelligence, and your versatility. You will be the Optimus's SO (Second Officer), and you will work closely with the ship's XO.... Admiral Malc motioned to Colonel Barada, who's face remained expressionless.
"While on the Bridge, you'll act as our Helm officer and Tactical chief, unless of-course you have command of the bridge itself." Admiral Malc said, then looked to the Colonel for a moment, before turning back to the Commander.
"You will be working very closely with Colonel Barada, and his chief intelligence officer, Lieutenant Dalton.
Admiral Malc paused for a minute, then looked at the Colonel:
"Do you have anything to add Colonel?" The Admiral asked the Executive officer.

::Colonel Barada rose and came out from behind his desk. He offered a hand to the Sub-Commander.::
"The Sub-Commander's reputation in the intelligence community precedes her. I look forward to working with you Sub-Commander. And can only add that I need you to hit the ground running as they say. There is a crisis going on and we are needed to manage it. Other than that, I can only say, welcome aboard."
::The Colonel finished.: :

When she entered she stood at attention, and out of habit saluted, by taking her left fist bringing it to where the Terran heart is, opening her palm as she withdraw her fist, bringing her arm straight out then down. She bowed to the Co and Xo.
"Excuse me Rehkkai' it is from a force of habit that I used the wrong salute. I shall work harder at using the Federation salute."
She accepts the Colonels our stretched hand and remembering her lesson from the War College, Tal'shair division, she grasp his hand firmly and shakes it. While looking at him squarly in his eyes with a slight smile. She takes the offered the seat and then listens as first Adm Malc speaks and then the Colonel.
Looking at the Admiral, "I am honored by being asked to be your second officer. Not to question your wisdom, Rehkkai' but do you think that is the best choice for this ship? Considering it is a Federation ship, and I am Rihannsu."
"Your words are kind Colonel. Excuse me," She slightly furrows her brows. "I am unfamiliar with the, I assume expression "hit the ground running", if you could clarify that for me it would be most helpful."
"While I have studied standard Federation for my work in the Tal'shair, I not totally familiar with all the expressions. Again, I shall endeavor to learn as many as possible while here."
"I look forward to meeting Lt. Dalton."
