::As Colonel Barada nodded, there was a beep on his console. He pressed a button and called up the report that had been sent to him.::
"Admiral, I must change my recommendation. We just received a report from SSR. They have discovered an enemy base. In addition to finding a mimic of President Pelleaon they have found Intel on the Invaders forces."
"There are 750 ships headed for Sector 001, presumably cloaked. 100 of them will be targeting the Capella-IV Fleet yards. Captain Washington has already mobilized Sol Sector Fleet and has requested additional ships to defend the fleetyards."
"That being the case I recommend we cut thee Impostor ships loose, allow Sol sector Fleet to deal with them and rendezvous with the Sentinel to pick up and interrogate this Pelleaon mimic."

"That being the case I recommend we cut thee Impostor ships loose, allow Sol sector Fleet to deal with them and rendezvous with the Sentinel to pick up and interrogate this Pelleaon mimic." As Colonel Barada nodded, Admiral Malc had received the same Intel on his console. He read the report a second time as he stood-up and, closing-down his console, he looked to the Colonel:
"Colonel... Have the RNZ-Regional Commander and his ships meet us out-side the Briar-Patch. We'll need to re-activate SB-141..... Tell Commander J'den that we'll need the base operational and secure within the next 72 hours." Admiral Malc said, as he headed for the door.
He paused a moment, and added:
"We'll need to re-enforce Captain Washington's resources also; I think this may be an exploratory-attack..... and that the invaders will come at Sol full-strength when they know what they'll be facing...so ensure that at-least 2,000 additional ships are sent......as many with cloaks as is available; I'll meet you on the bridge when you finish. "
That said, Admiral Malc walked out of the ready-room and headed for the TL.

::Colonel Barada nodded. And he immediately went to work, pulling up the information on his screen. He checked the battle plan that Captain Washington had sent him, then opened up another window and sent the message to Commander J'Den aboard the Chimaira. That having been accomplished her reassigned vessels and dispatched them to the Sol Sector Fleet. He worked quickly and shut down his console when he was finished.::
::Barada took out his spycorder and checked some intelligence information as he rose and departed the Ready Room headed for the Bridge.::

::Within seconds of transmission, a light would blink upon the Ready Room console, signaling that an onboard transmission had been received from the quarters of the CNS Ensign Torianna:
Admiral Malc I have arrived safely aboard your vessel, and am ready to report for duty. Please advise as to a time convenient for you that we should meet to discuss my new post as your ship's CNS. I was made aware, upon my arrival, of the destruction of the USS Numeria and am ready to assume my post immediately as I am certain the crew may have use of a counselor. CNS Ensign Torianna[/i]
***OOC note: The destroyed ship was actually the Guardian. Correction made in next post.

Admiral Malc had just finished sending out intel reports to the fleet's division Commanders. He was about to goto the replicator and grab himself some coffee, when he heard the familiar beep, that indicated an inter-ship transmission.
He tapped the console:Admiral Malc I have arrived safely aboard your vessel, and am ready to report for duty. Please advise as to a time convenient for you that we should meet to discuss my new post as your ship's CNS. I was made aware, upon my arrival, of the destruction of the USS Numeria and am ready to assume my post immediately as I am certain the crew may have use of a counselor. CNS Ensign Torianna Admiral Malc considered what the psychologist had said, then a moment later, he tapped a button on his console, locating the ensign.
He tapped his comm-badge:
"Welcome aboard the Optimus Ms. Torianna. I wish the circumstances were better and had time to welcome you personally, however the Guardian's crew are surely in-need of your special attention, as their Captain has yet to be located. So in addition to physical injuries, there will be mental trauma....but I'll leave the diagnosis to you. The majority of the survivors are in the cargo-bay. I'll be on the bridge if I'm needed. Malc out."
He stood-up and went to the replicator, finally getting his cup of coffee.
That was when he heard the, all-too-familiar, sound of a priority one message-alert. He walked back to his desk, and standing in front of it, leaned over the desk, and turned the console to face him.
He grimaced, as he read the report. Yet another one of the section flag-ships was in trouble. This time it was the Tahoe. He noted it's position, and frantically tapped-away at the console, trying to locate the nearest help.
He gritted his teeth as he realized that the Optimus was the nearest help the Tahoe had, and it didn't appear like they could get there in time.
He turned the console back around, not bothering to turn it off, and set his coffee down, as he tapped his comm-badge again.
"Sub-Commander Khev, set a course for sector 329, mark 4. Maximum warp. The USS Tahoe is being attacked, and we are the closest help they may have...I will be on the bridge shortly. Malc out."
He quickly took another sip of his coffee, then headed out of the ready-room, and to the turbo-lift.

::Upon hearing the voice as it came to her loud and clear, she realized her mistake and paused in her unpacking to respond to Admiral Malc::
::With a tap to her comm badge, she quickly responded::
"Thank you for your welcome, Admiral Malc and I too wish circumstances were better. A personal welcome, although it would have been nice, is understandably postponed until the Guardian's crew is seen to. I will make my way to the cargo bay immediately. Forgive my error in referring to the recently destroyed Numeria, my only explanation for the error is that I heard of it's destruction while aboard the shuttle enroute to the Optimus. I will be certain to contact the bridge if I find you are needed. Ensign Torianna out."[/b][/i]
::Without hesitation, she left the remainder of her personal items unpacked and left her quarters. securing it upon leaving, to make her way to the turbolift that would take her to the cargo bay. Unbeknownst to her was the further devastation the Admiral was now facing.::

::After sending out the transmission as ordered, Brock reported to the Admiral's Ready Room, rang the buzzer.:: As Admiral Malc entered the Ready-room, he'd no-more than sat down, than the chime rang.
"Come."
He said, as he opened the command console on his desk and began going over the continuous stream of intel reports.

::Brock entered the Ready Room, hearing the Admiral's voice. He stepped in front of the desk, hands behind his back.::
The Intel report has been sent, Admiral. All commands should be recieving it as we speak.
::His first instinct was to ask if the Admiral wanted to discuss something specific with him, but he thought it best to wait and let the Admiral speak in his own time::

The Intel report has been sent, Admiral. All commands should be receiving it as we speak. Admiral Malc nodded.
"Have a seat Commander." Admiral Malc said as he turned off his console.
"Commander, part of the reason I wanted you to go down and be with your crew, was so I would be able to have this chat with you.
I understand that some of the officers and enlisted personnel will have a lower morale....with all that has happened, I can't say that I haven't been affected by all of this as well."
He paused a moment, then continued.
"But morale isn't my concern right now. A crew-member with low-morale can still do their duties.
What I am more interested in, is how many of your crew, or crew from the Tahoe, that you have seen, have been adversely effected by these recent events in such a way as to either prevent them from doing their duties, or possibly make them a danger to other crew members or themselves."

::Brock took a seat and considered the Admiral's words. He had indeed people affected on different levels.::
I understand what you mean about Morale. Sir. Most of my Crew seem to be ok and many are helping the others out. Others are not taking things too well. they feel displaced, and some feel defeated, especially those that lost best friends, or spouses.
When the Tahoe crew came aboard, many had the look of terror in their eyes, and who could blame them? seeing the other escape pods being blown up and those aboard being murdered in cold blood all around them.
I know that fear can easily spread like a virus and I was afraid of that happening. That's why I felt like I had to address them and say something. I felt that I needed to try and curb that fear and not let them them be over whelmed by helplessness.
As far as who may be a danger to themselves or anyone else, it's hard for me to say. I've been doing what I can just to let them know I'm there. If you need numbers, I'm sure your CNS can help me get a better idea of that. She's been working tirelessly with both crews.
For the most part, I think most of them are able to function.

"And what are your thoughts about the Tahoe CO, Captain Kaz? She seems to be in a stupor of some sort."

::Brock sighed, nodding to the Admiral as he spoke of Captain Kaz. Brock was not completely comfortable making judgements about fellow officers, but it was understandable that the Admiral might want an opinion on this.::
I'm not a psychologist, Admiral, But I would have to say, based on observation, that Captain Kaz is emotionally distraught over the loss of more than half her crew.
I find this understandable. She is a fine officer and she cared a great deal about her crew. I think I know what the look in her eyes is telling me. She's blaming herself for their deaths and questioning her own judgement right now. This is a feeling I DO know something about, based upon my own experiences.
I think that she made the best possible descision based on the circumstances she was under. As far as how long this will last or when she will recover fully, I couldn't tell you. I think it best that the CNS or CMO do some kind of a profile on her.
I'm very concerned about her, and so is her crew. And I'm just as sick over the loss of her people as she is. Unfortunately, She fared far better than many ships as far as survival rate.
:: He paused, giving the Admiral a chance to speak in return::

"Yes, Pretty much the same conclussion(s) that I came to. And just so you know, I was asking you for your opinion for two reasons; One, so I could get a non-medical opinion from an experienced officer, and Two, so I confirm my own beliefs."

::Brock nodded:: I appreciate the fact that you value my opinion, Sir. ::He fidgedted in his chair a moment::
Sir, If I may ask, I don't exactly have a ship anymore. I'm happy to remain on the Optimus as long as you need me, but I was just wondering if you or the fleet have any other plans for me.
::He was begining t feel more comfortable with the Admiral and just wanted to see what was to become of his career. He didn;t mind staying on Optimus where he could learn from the Admiral, Who had been a highly respected Starship Captain in his own right.::
