::She changes into the uniform Dr. Jackson gives her quickly. Then gives her a smile.::
Let's go then. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it, if I can.

She knows it's a point of pride for many people with physcial problems to be able to walk somewhere instead of being taken in a wheelchair. She offers Kay a series of bands and will help her put them on her legs. "Well, let's see if you can walk. These bands will assist in transmitting nerve impulses and muscle movement until you can train walk on your own again."
She offers an arm of support and helps her get up. When they leave the room, she asks a nurse to follow to assist them if Kay asked.

::Brock looked over the status reports coming in. there were still a great deal of personnel on board from both the Tahoe and the guardian who were not yet reassigned.
Ships systems were looking good for the most part, but there was some battle damage, and the torpedo magazines were severely depleted. The engineering readouts he had recieved showed that all was running well. Sara was doing a good job down there but some of the readouts he saw indicated to him that some of plasma injectors could use replacing.::
::He stood, arms folded loking into the viewscreen.::
Helm, lay in a course for Starbase 141, warp factor eight. Ops, continue to monitor traffic and continue long range scans.
::He watched the crew carry out the orders.::

::She stood up and began to walk. At first she was unsure if the bands would be able to withstand her body weight. She was by no means obese, but she figured she probably carried around a little extra weight that she really didn’t need. She kept her arms out in front of her and walked fairly slow- so that she’d be able to catch herself and regain her balance before she fell over, but that never happened. She smiled when she finally reached the where Dr. Jackson was standing.::
That wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I guess it’s a bit to get used to, but since the cells weren’t totally destroyed it should come back fairly quickly- after they remember what they’re supposed to do.

She smiles at Kay, thrilled that she was able to walk, albeit with a bit of help. "Exactly... and the more you practice, the sooner you won't have to depend on the bands." She walks slowly with Kay to the shuttlebay where the transport was waiting. The nurse Sabina had asked to follow them was carrying a bag with the few things Kay had brought with her. The nurses had collectively added a few surprise gifts that Kay may want on her new assignment... some civilian clothes in her size and some jewelery, and a few decorative things to make her new quarters more homey. She guesses that Ryza and the kids, as well as Kestrin were already aboard."I wonder what Kestrin will think when you go walking onto the shuttle?" She smiles. "Good luck on your new assignment. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call." The nurse hands the bag from the nurse and a PADD with Kay's injury and treatment record to someone who took them into the shuttle for her.

Sabina hears the comm message and takes a hasty leave from the shuttle bay. She gives Kay a quick hug, something uncharacteristic for her to do, "Please, I'd like to hear how you are doing when you get there, but I have to run right now."
Then she grabs the med kit from the nurse who was still following in case she had been needed and rushes to the nearest Turbolift. "Deck 1" she says. She had read the Admiral's medical file, but she couldn't think of anything on it that would cause a sudden call to her... she furrows her brows in worry, the wrinkles from her brows mixing with her nose ridges. A few moments later, she exits the TL and hurries into the ready room, not even noticing if anyone else nearby in her haste.

((See Ready room post))
Sabina exits the Ready room a few minutes after entering. She sees Captain Kaz near the door and hands her the PADD with her name on it. Then she sees Commander Dantara in the big chair and she hands his PADD to him. "Commander, I am relieving Admiral Malc of duty... he needs some time to rest. I assume those two PADDs on his desk contain orders of some sort for you or the ship. But as Chief medical officer, I recommend that the whole crew gets some time to relax before I have to relieve more people of duty."
She goes to the ops officer next and speaks softly. "Please beam Admiral Malc and myself to his quarters in one minute. The Admiral needs to rest."
She turns and goes back to the ready room. When they are beamed to his quarters, she puts him to bed and leaves a note on his bedside telling him he better not try to go back on duty until he gets a clean bill of health. Satisfied that her patient will be sleeping for awhile longer, she sets up a nurse to check on him every half hour and returns to sickbay to fill out the paperwork.

Alex didn't know how much time left him from when he sat down at the desk and started on the reports to the present time but all he knew was that he was more then ready to do something other then sit for a while. So he went to get up only to have his body tell him to sit back down so he just got up for a moment to get a drink of water from the replicator and then sat back down.
More time passed and more reports were read and done. Rotations were set, and the marine sechedual was ready for posting. Alex had done all that without even thinking of it. Just came to him now as much as breathing. Before he knew it he was out like a light.
One of the marines desided to check in on old Alex to see how he was holding up only to find him passed out at the desk. The younger man went wake Alex but he didn't respond and thought 'oh great another one'. Without so much as a thought he tapted the comm.
+T+> This is Staff Sargent Talk to Sickbay....I think someone needs to come down and check on 1st Lt. Alex. He is unconsious right now and the cause is unknown.
The man was puzzled as to what was going on with the commander of the unit and why he wasn't responding but had a good idea why. Just to be on the safe side, however, he wanted to hear it from a medical professional of some sort.

I've been babying the engines a little since they've been pushed hard during the war, but I think I can coax a little more out of them. ::She gave her order to the OPS officer and started back for the ready room.:: Dr, I'd like regular reports on the Admiral's condition. Just for my own peace of mind. I'm sure it's nothing more than exhaustion. ::He sat back in the Command chair with the PADD.:: Helm, kick us up to warp eight point seven. Engage secondary plasma coolant tanks, and watch the injector levels. ::He read over the PADD, which stated that the Admiral would be taking time off, and that Brock was now promoted to full commander and is to be left in command of Optimus until the Admiral wished to return to duty.:: ::Brock sighed to himself. He wanted a ship of his own and a promotion, but not like this. He would carry out the Admiral's wishes and take care of the Optimus until Admiral Malc chose to return.:: ::He looked to the OPS officer.:: Put me through on intraship communication, please, Lt. "Aye,Sir" He punched up his panel Attention crew of USS Optimus, This is Commander Dantara. As of this date and time, I am assuming command of the Optimus. We are on course for Starbase 141. Admiral Malc will be taking some time off. He certainly deserves it. If any one has any questions about this, please contact me on the bridge.
When we dock at the starbase, Optimus will begin repairs and shore leave will be initiated. Dantara out. ::He sat back in his chair, looking at the main viewer, hoping that the Admiral was alright and that it was nothing more than exhaustion.::

::kaz takes the paper work with a slight nod. She looks it over. Shes being transfered. And she would be XO. She sighs. Just another position. It never seemed like she stayed anywhere long. The shuttle that would be picking her up would be coming in a few hours. She didnt have any belongings to take with her, so it really didnt matter that it was coming so soon. She gives a nodd to Dantara and exits the bridge and heads for Ten Forward.::

The shuttle the came to pick up Captain Kaz also dropted her off because it came from Starbase 141. She didn't have much with her so when the quatermaster came to get her things from her he was supprised that he really didn't need to do that. She talked with the man and it ended with her shacking his hand and politely smiling.
She walked down the corradors for a while until she happened upon the bridge. It was her first time on a ship like this and she figured why make the man wait. After all he did request her. She walked on the bridge like she owned the place. Walked up to the man in the center seat and then handed the PADD over to him.
Captain, I am Lt. Commander Rivers reporting as ordered to do so, sir.
She then snapted off a salut that was so crispt it would have left ice hanging in the air if it was any colder. Her eyes showed nothing of the women behind them for right now she was on duty and little emotion was her MO by now.

She scans him, then addresses the Staff Sargeant who had called her. She takes a blood sample to make sure he isn't sick. "Alex is also suffering from fatigue. I recommend that he be taken to his quarters and allowed to rest." She brings up a ship's map, showing where quarters were assigned to Alex. She writes up a PADD as she walks with the Staff Sargeant, who carries Alex, a short distance to his quarters. She watches the Staff Sargeant put Alex on the bed and both of them leave the quarters. Sabina leaves the PADD, ordering Alex not to return to duty until he feels completely rested and has eaten a balanced breakfast.

I'm Commander Brock Dantara, Acting Commanding officer of the Optimus.
Thank you for coming aboard so promptly. Admiral Malc is a bit exhausted, as you may know and is going to be taking some extended leave. I've only recently been given command of the ship. Many of the crew aboard here are exhausted. We are currently heading in to Starbase 141 to put in for repairs and to drop off a number of personnel from my old ship, The Guardian, and also from the Tahoe. Once there, we'll be taking a short break until we receive our next assignment. Most of our senior officers have already left for vacations.
Do you you have any questions, Commander? Or is there anything You need? If not, We'll be putting into 141 shortly. I recommend that you get settled into your new quarters and relax. You'll be on shore leave as soon as we dock. ::Brock smiled at his new officer, hoping to make her feel more comfortable.::
